The man behind Groovy Entertainment is Gavin Poole (owner and DJ).  I was introduced to the world of DJing through an newspaper ad back in 1998.  I got to go out and see how some experts of the industry worked back then.  Got my lucky break when another DJ didn't show up for their first show and I got sent by the boss to do the show...  And as you say the rest is history!

My musical passion extended back to when I was in primary school and was given the chance to learn trumpet.  I continued to study music during high school and moved to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where I completed a Certificate of Music (in Jazz) on the trumpet.  I have played many instruments over the years in many different community bands.  I lead the Leeming Area Big Band for 5 years and am currently playing 1st Trumpet as part of the Fremantle Jazz Orchestra.

I am a primary school teacher currently teaching specialist music classes (have a Bachelor of Education).  I have a Working With Children Check.

I love all types of music ranging from Jazz through to Classical, Soul through to Pop, Disco to Country. My musical experiences have given me the opportunity to experience so many different styles of music.
